We at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, both church and school, are committed to the protection of those most vulnerable in our care - the children and vulnerable adults in our parish. It is the policy of St. John the Baptist to follow the directive of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis (see the letter from the Archbishop below) and the United States Council of Catholic Bishops under the Virtus/PCYI program. Therefore, we require all staff and volunteers who work in any way with children or vulnerable adults to attend a Virtus Session offered throughout the Archdiocese, fill out and file with the parish office all of the pertinent forms on this page (under documents), which authorize St. John's to perform a thorough background check. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the parish office.
Visit www.virtusonline.org to register for a Virtus Training Session, sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct, and request your background check.
These procedures are in place for the safety and protection of all our children. We acknowledge that there are many pieces our volunteers need to complete. Thank you for your diligence!
